r1234yf New Ozone Friendly Gas
(Vehicles with factory fittings only)
This is the new product which was released to replace R134a. This has low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) but has not yet been accepted for the automotive market by manufacurers due to problems with combustibilty on impacts. Some manufacturers are however supplying vehicles with this product. This product cannot be used with R134a systems. It is also a very expensive product, nearly 4 times more expensive that R134a! We can quote you on recharging your system with this product, if it is an original specification on the vehicle.

A 'Top Up' is not the same as a service...dont be fooled!
To keep your system in peak condition, every two years you should have a full service by a certified City and Guilds technician!
During the Winter and colder months, try and be brave and run your aircon as much as you can, especially when you need to defog screens and side windows-it will clear them quicker than your heater, as the air coming from your a/c is dry!
In especially hot climates, try and run your aircon on the "face vent" setting, and fan setting "1", as this will ease pressure on your system and give you a colder air, if not slower fan, and will be less drain on your system and petrol consumption! Remember, your system is designed to run between 6 and 28C (outside temp) and anything over that will be pressure on your system, so give it a break!
